about the TANS

We are Andy Tan and Yu Kai Tan from the two ends of the Malaysian Peninsula steeped in spectacular cultural and biological diversity. Resisting the solo photographer stereotype, we are a dynamic duo deeply passionate in the allure of all things natural. We draw inspiration from our natural history collection 5,000-specimen strong, live non-horticultural plant collection 200-species strong, hidden specimens in natural history museums and botanical glass houses, and the evolution of the living world around us. Frequently haunting Connecticut forests, we indulge in the unexpected treats of seasonal floral changes that New England offer.
